Liverpool gave Odegaard a tour of Anfield, took him out for dinner and he trained with Gerrard and Co. He had similar trips to Arsenal, United and City but when Madrid came calling he couldn't refuse

Real Madrid’s 16-year-old £2.3million signing Martin Odegaard confirmed on Thursday that the prospect of working with Zinedine Zidane turned his head away from the Premier League and towards the European champions.
The Norwegian teenager, who was presented at the club’s training ground, is on a basic £40,000-a-week for his first half-season but can double that with bonuses.
He chose Madrid despite visiting Liverpool and Arsenal on a whistle-stop tour of some of Europe’s biggest clubs.

Good For Him Though.......

Arsene Wenger: Work permits should be scrapped for foreign players, they're the reason we didn't sign Angel di Maria

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger wants work permits for foreign footballers to be scrapped.
The Frenchman, who revealed he missed out on bringing Angel di Maria to the club nine years ago due to employment red tape, says the UK’s football authorities should open its borders to all overseas players, not just those who qualify for the necessary paperwork.
Arsenal are poised to sign Villarreal’s Gabriel Paulista, who has a £15million release clause. But the transfer is reliant on the Brazilian obtaining a work permit, which will not be a foregone conclusion given the central defender has not played international football.

I wonder why this man always have excuses for not signing a player didn't Manchester united sign Di Maria with the same work permit...
