Davido Gave Wizkid A Heavy Blow

If there is somebody that really made it BIG in 2014 as far as the entertainment industry is concerned, it’s definitely fast rising artiste, David Adeleke, famously addressed as Davido.

The “Dami Duro” crooner came from nowhere, a struggling artiste, to become a superstar and his impact was felt by music Lovers both within and outside the country. More story after cut

The ‘Omo Baba Olowo’ currently sits on top of the A League, with a bestselling album and truck load of hits i.e Gobe, Skelewu, Aye and the most recent single titled ‘ Tchelete’ feat Mafikizolo from South Africa. The clamour for Davido’s works by fans and practitioners have given him the leeway to eclipse the popularity of his archrival, Wizkid .

Davido is generally regarded as natural with his style and more professional in his approach to work. Findings revealed that the graduate of Babcock University spares no expense in getting himself a good song writer unlike his rival Wizkid who thinks he knows it all and ended up churning out lousy music.

Davido had wowed music lovers with his club banging track “Skelewu” and timeless hit “ Aye”. These classic hits have turned Davido to Africa Pop King. The accolades and wide acceptance trailing his latest work with South African duo, Mafikizolo, has proven beyond doubt that he has successfully deposed Wizkid in their genre.

This year alone, Davido has won numerous Awards including, Headies Awards for Best Hip-hop World Revelation, Best Pop Album. MTV Africa Music Awards for Best Male and Artist of the year not forgetting the just concluded BET Awards where he won Best African Act. It’s not surprising that Wizkid has lost the Africa Pop King to Davido, who, many say, is a more disciplined musician and gradually getting more popular with fans and the international media.
